Much of Motcombe Community Shop’s success can be attributed to its team of hard working and dedicated volunteers. Volunteering brings back the enjoyable, social side of retailing whilst supporting the shop which is at the heart of the Motcombe Community.
Volunteers do many tasks from baking croissants and checking sell-by dates to stacking shelves, as well as serving customers at the till. Volunteers work with enthusiasm and a good sense of humour, always providing a warm welcome into the shop.
“I cannot thank the volunteers enough for their help and support in keeping the shop open and flourishing. We receive constant feedback from customers about the happy atmosphere in the shop and how it is a delight to shop here. This would not be the case if the eager volunteers didn’t enjoy what they are doing. I thank you all most sincerely.”
