THE SHOP FORECOURT IS ABOUT TO BE RE-FURBISHED

  • We are about to improve the forecourt to provide a more comfortable place for customers to wait for the Post Office or to have coffee etc in all seasons.
  • Work will begin on Friday 5 November, when the pavilion will be taken down and removed for servicing and cleaning.
  • Starting on Monday 8 November, the forecourt will be levelled and re-surfaced in a resin material, removing the current trip hazards.   This work is expected to take about three days.
  • Once the re-surfacing is complete, the pavilion will be returned, fitted with lighting, heaters, gutters and clear plastic screens on the two outer surfaces.   The screens will have sliding doors.
  • The wooden corner seat will be retained but the round picnic table will be removed and replaced by three small round tables and chairs.   There will be two outside tables in the space at the front between the pavilion and the pavement.
  • Plants and bird food will be displayed on new shelves below the main shop window.
  • Newspapers will be presented in a new mobile display tower.
  • While the re-surfacing work is taking place, customers will not be able to access the forecourt, so during that time Post Office customers will be able to queue inside and we will be serving hot drinks to take away only.   We apologise for any upheaval but it will be worthwhile.
